Hi, I go by Losama which stands for Lori Santa Maria. I’m an Internet Marketing Manager at Belo Phoenix| KTVK 3TV, KASW CW6 and azfamily.com. I have the best job! I work in the 3TV news room with a group of passionate, professional and personable reporters, anchors, writers & web peeps. There’s never a dull moment, especially when there’s breaking news. My job is to help market our websites and create and fulfill online sales opportunities for our awesome team of internet sales specialists which in the end reaches our local businesses. It’s fun and I love it.

So, a big part of my job is researching and testing. And, I usually research, test and create PowerPoint presentations of ideas and send them out to individuals. Well, recently I’ve decided that instead of creating all these different PowerPoint presentations that I’d start this blog and throw everything I learn in one spot. Sounds smarter to me. Anyhoo, I hope you enjoy and at least learn one new thing for each time you visit.

about my professional background:
Well, I’m an ASU grad in Business Marketing (go sundevils!) and in my last year of school at ASU through a wonderful mentor I was put in touch with the ABC 15 group. And, through the interview process I was hired by a fabulous marketer, Charlotte Risch a promotions manager at ABC 15 at the time and now owner of TheMedia Push, she knows her PR and marketing. Anyway, I interned with Charlotte and she started my career in the media business. From there, I got a job at 3TV, where I’ve been… oh for the past 10 years now. I started as a sales assistant cranking out sales presentations for over 30 sales Account Executives, then promoted to an Operations Coordinator where I helped create and activate the Women’s Expo, then promoted to Integrated Marketing Specialist where I helped develop and activate multi-media campaigns for local and national clients, then moved into the marketing department where I created and activated all events and campaigns that marketed 3TV, ie. The Good Morning Arizona Holiday Parties!, Official Forecaster Partnerships, Oh, if you saw it, I project managed the 3TV & CW6 mall kiosks, fun projects. OK, on to my next promotion, Internet Marketing Manager, hey with this promotion I got my own department and the goal to launch a new woman’s website, you may have heard about it, mysweetconnection.com. It was a great learning tool, I ran it for two years and we had successes but decided to fold it recently to focus on our main website, www.azfamily.com. We took the best that mysweetconnection.com had to offer, such as local contributors and a rewards program and integrated it into azfamily.com to make it more robust. Plus, as a TV station we were spreading ourselves too thin trying to promote all the different entities that we own with limited resources and limited TV inventory. So, I think it’s only smart to start back to basics and do it right rather than spreading ourselves too thin and doing things just, OK.

Through each of my promotions I’ve gained great experience about sales, project management, event marketing, traditional marketing and internet marketing. And, most importantly I’ve learned that traditional marketing and internet marketing are totally different. And, with each new day, internet marketing continues to grow and change with new SEO practices, perfecting SEM, new social networking and media tools and so much more. I love to learn and this profession definitely keeps me on my toes.

about my personal background:
I’m an Arizona Native, married to my Guinness loving husband Shane and have a black mouth cur named Murphy. I love hanging out with my family and friends which are one in the same. I grew up with an older brother and was dragged around watching him play a bunch of sports. So, it’s no wonder that I grew up playing sports: volleyball, softball, basketball and dabbled in golf. Today, I’m more into running, yoga and the occasional wakeboarding and snowboarding trip. I like to work hard and play hard and enjoy what life has to offer.
